Webb Signs New Addition to Women's Basketball Team
December 6, 2011LAWTON—Cameron University’s women’s basketball coach Tom Webb announced he has signed Markita Ziegler to join his squad for the 2012-2013 season.
Ziegler, who is the daughter of Mark and Stephanie Ziegler, is currently a senior at Midwest City High School where she is coached by Art Bode. The 6’1 post also plays for the OKC Primetime club team, which has seen much success under coach Eric Young.
Webb acknowledged that he is impressed with the skill he has seen from Ziegler and is thrilled to have her as a member of his team.
“We are really excited about Markita’s future as a Cameron Aggie. We watched her a lot over the summer and enjoyed seeing her progress from her junior year to now,” Webb said. “Markita will provide us with a physical presence in the post. Her athleticism will allow her opportunity to rebound and score inside in this league.”
