Diata, Razor Receive Weekly Conference HonorsDecember 12, 2011
LAWTON—It was announced today that Cameron basketball players Sabelle Diata and Thomas Razor were named Lone Star Conference Defensive Players of the Week for the week of Dec. 5.
Diata posted three blocks in CU’s match-up against Angelo State and secured 10 rebounds. A few days later in the team’s contest with Abilene Christian, the Aggie senior finished with 11 rebounds. Diata’s incredible athleticism and enthusiasm for the game have been critical in the squad’s success this season. The women currently boast a 3-1 conference record.
Razor was equally as valuable to the men’s team as Diata was for the women’s. The Lawton native held Angelo State’s Keenen Coleman and Abilene Christian’s Zach Williams to a combined 12 points. Razor also forced nine combined turnovers in the two games in addition to his three steals. Like the women, the men hold a 3-1 record in the LSC.
The next action for both teams will be against the University of the Incarnate Word, Saturday, Dec. 17 in the Aggie Gym. The women will tip off at 2 p.m., while the men are slated to begin at 4 p.m.
