Foutch Named LSC Hitter Of The Week
February 16, 2012LAWTON, Okla. (Feb. 16, 2012) — Coming of an impressive 4-1 run participating in the Desert Stinger in Las Vegas, Cameron softball player Sonia Foutch claimed Lone Star Conference Hitter of the Week Honors.
The clutch of Foutch, in her first year at Cameron, helped propel the Aggies to their success. Out of 11 at bats, the CU junior had an impressive six runs, seven hits and eight RBIs, totaling a .636 average. Additionally, Foutch had three extra base hits, including two home runs. She hit safely in each game in Las Vegas, twice recording multi-hit games.
On the season, Foutch is hitting .467, with six hits in 15 at bats and eight walks. She is leading the team in average (.467), RBI (8), slugging (.933), walks (8) and on-base percentage (.625).
Cameron (5-2) is out to a fast start and will look to add to its win total this weekend at the Southeastern Tournament in Durant, Okla.
