Webb adds LHS's Reinke to AggiesDecember 11, 2009
LAWTON, Oklahoma (December 11) – Cameron Aggie head women’s basketball coach Tom Webb kept it local with his most recent signing after adding Lawton High School standout Lacy Reinke to his 2010-2011 squad. Reinke has been a four-year letter winner for the LHS Wolverines and will be a freshman at CU next fall.
“We are extremely pleased with the signing of Lacy,” Coach Webb said. “She will make an immediate impact on our program both on and off the court. Lacy will be an important piece to the puzzle over the next 4 years.”
Reinke is a 6’3” post player who will bring size, speed, and athleticism to the Aggie women’s squad. As a junior, she averaged 11 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, and 1 block per game.
“Lacy fits our fast, aggressive style of play, and she can compete inside the lane in this league,” Coach Webb said. “She is a post player that can shoot the three and really run.”
At LHS, Reinke was coached by head coach Jackie Barrett Jr. and assistant coach Lani Malcolm. Coach Malcolm is a former Aggie women’s basketball player.
“It’s been a pleasure to get to know both Coach Barrett and Coach Malcolm over the past year and half,” Coach Webb said. “They’ve made a huge impact on Lacy and I’m sure it’ll be very enjoyable to watch her run up and down the floor in Aggie Gym.”
Reinke is the daughter of Jeff and Gayelynn Reinke.
“It says a lot about our institution and our program’s progress that we are able to sign a Lawton/Ft. Sill talent like Lacy,” Coach Webb said. “We’re excited Lacy is an Aggie and can’t wait to see her in the Black and Gold.”
The 2010-2011 Aggie basketball season will begin next November.
The CU squad is currently in the middle of their 2009-2010 season and are preparing to host a two-game homestand this weekend with Eastern New Mexico on Saturday (2:00pm) and West Texas A&M on Monday (6:00pm).
