ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla.—The Cameron University men's tennis team's season came to an end on early Thursday morning after they fell to Concordia (N.Y.) 5-0 at the NCAA Championships.

Cameron's match passed the midnight hour after weather delayed play throughout the day and pushed the Aggies to start their Round of 16 match with Concordia to 10:10 p.m. on Wednesday night and concluded past 1:00 a.m. locally on Thursday.

In doubles the Aggies fell in the two slot 8-1 to the Clippers while Angelo Lencioni and Felipe Oyarzun lost their one doubles match to the fourth ranked pairing in the nation 8-2.  The three-slot was toughly contested with Rory de Boer and Andres Velasco battling to a tie at five each.  However, the Clippers would take the next three out of four games to win 8-6.

Concordia who now had a 3-0 lead heading into singles play needed to win just two individual matches to move onto the quarterfinals.

With their backs against the wall, Cameron couldn't put together a comeback with the Clippers taking the three-slot first 6-1, 6-1 and the overall match in the six-slot, 6-1, 6-1. 

In the unfinished matches Joao Fazendeiro took four games in set one but was winless in the second set, Dennis Merdan played the top singles slot against the nation's number-3 player and won a game in each set.  

Rory de Boer was facing the number-10 ranked player in the two-slot and he won two games in the first set; Lencioni was through set one in the four-slot and he won three games, while losing six.

With the loss Cameron ends their season with an 18-9 overall record; Concordia will move on and face #3 Barry at 1 p.m.
