Aggies finish seventh at Chile Pepper

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – For the second week in a row the Cameron University cross country team had to wait the weather out and race on tough conditions.  The Aggies would finish seventh out of the 21 other programs in the college section of the Chile Pepper festival with 203 points.

Race Results

"The race was a decent showing beating some ranked teams in the region," said head coach Casey Kreger.  "For muddy and wet conditions and the hour delay it was a good showing."

"We have three weeks until conference and we know what we need to work on and we will do our best to hit our goals."

For the fourth time the Aggies were led by Thomas Toth who placed 46th out of 326 total runners with a 25:44.0.  Kilian Schreiner was the
second best Cameron runner finishing 80th (26:15.0), while Janis Pastars placed 103rd with a time of 26:30.3.

Cody Campbell finished eight spots back of Pastars with a time of 26:36.9.

Methuselah Lagat placed 175th (27:31.6), Steve Orwell was 183rd (27:37.4), and Damien Porter rounded out the Aggie group finishing 234th (28:20.8).

Augustana (SD) won the college section of the 8K race with 55 points, while West Texas A&M finished runner up with 80.   The Aggies finished ahead of Tarleton State and Dallas Baptist who are eight and 10 in the South Central Region.
