STILLWATER, Okla. -- Thomas Toth finished first overall at the 77th annual Cowboy Jamboree to lead the Cameron University cross country team to a strong third place finish.

Toth finished with a time of 25:15.02 to edge out unattached runner David Mountford to win the Non Division-1 University race. Janis Pastars also had a strong run for Cameron, finishing 10th overall with a time of 26:55.27. Freshman runner Kilian Schreiner was not far behind with a time of 27:11.77 to lockup 13th place.
"It was a good race for everybody today," said head coach Casey Kreger. "The conditions were tough with very wet and muddy conditions."
"Times were slow across the board with all the teams but we had a good effort and I felt this race was a step forward."
Rounding out the top finishers for Cameron was Cody Campbell who had a time of 27:47.42 to finish 22nd and Steve Orwell who placed 26th with a time of 28:06.52. Also running for CU was Methuselah Lagat (28:17.51) finishing 27th and Damien Porter (28:45.02) who finished 30th.
As a team, the Aggies had a total time 2:15:17.00 to edge out Oklahoma Christian for third place. Drury University finished first overall with a total time of 2:14:13.11, followed by Oklahoma City University(2:14:42.49). LSC opponent Texas A&M-Commerce also ran against CU finishing fifth.
The Aggies will be back in action next Saturday in Fayetteville, Ark. for the University of Arkansas Chile Pepper Festival.
