LAWTON, Okla. – The Cameron University cross country team continued their spring exhibition season at the Texas Relays and the Oklahoma Baptist Open.
In Austin, Texas,
Thomas Toth was the lone qualifier for Cameron and raced in the 5000 meter against a field of comprised of mostly NCAA Division I programs; Toth would finish 20th out of 21 runners with a time of 15:25.
At OBU Open, Cameron fielded
Methuselah Lagat and
Loic Soria in the 1500 meter and they finished inside the top-10 overall. Lagat broke a program record with a time of 3:57.68 to finish in sixth, while Soria had season best 4:02.60 for eighth place.
"This week was a good set of races and great lessons learned," said head coach Casey Kreger.  "I pushed the guys hard the last two weeks…we're looking for big performances at KU (Kansas) and Drake Relays at the end of the month and as that is what we have been focusing training on all spring."
"We are happy to get a new school record this week but I am ready for further success and faster performances."
Cameron will return to the track on Apr. 16-17 at the KU Relays.
