ARLINGTON, Texas. – Members of the Cameron Cross Country team competed individually against a strong field at the Bobby Lane Invitational on Saturday, March 25 at UT-Arlington's Maverick Stadium.
CU battled alongside several Division-I teams including the University of Oklahoma, UT-Arlington, the University of North Texas and SMU among others.
Marvin Dierker highlighted the Aggies with a 12th place finish in the 800 meters, finishing with a time of 1:56.89. In that same race,
Mirko Blaettler placed 33rd (2:02.32),
Steffen Riestenpatt 42nd (2:09.13) and
Jaysen Shiner 46th (2:10.60).
In the 1500 meters, Blaettler finished 14th completing the race in 4:07.88, while Riestenpatt was ten spots back of him with a time of 4:18.14.
As the lone Aggie in the 5000 meters,
Celso Ramierez placed 24th in 16:05.15. The 3000 steeplechase saw Shiner finish ninth in 10:55.04.
Next, the Aggies will compete at the Hardin Simmons Invitational on April 1 in Abilene, Texas.
