LAWTON – The Cameron University cross country teams begin their hunt for a Lone Star Conference Championship when the kickoff the 2022 fall season in September.

The next chapter of the CU cross country program begins with both the men and women's teams starting the season on their home course, the Big Green Soccer Complex in Lawton, with the Aggie Duels on Sep. 9 to open a 6-race set schedule.

Following the annual race hosted by Cameron, both Aggie squads will head to Stillwater on Sep. 24 to compete in the OSU Cowboy Jamboree. They then begin the month of October with a preview of the LSC Championship course at the Midwestern State Mustang Open in Wichita Falls, Texas on Oct. 8.

They will then return to the River Creek Golf Course in Wichita Falls for the LSC Championship on Nov. 5. The final race on the schedule is the NCAA DII South Central Regional in Denver, Colo. on Nov. 19 with qualifiers advancing to the National Championship in December.

Cameron's women recorded three top-5 race finishes and finished in ninth at the LSC Championship. Freshman sensation Daesha Brathwaite led the group of Aggies with a 31st place finish and is back with a full season and offseason under her belt.

Johnson also returns Belle Vignes, Genevieve Young, Alejandra Collier, and Arian Spears from LSC Championship lineup. He has also added to the roster with Eastern New Mexico transfer Malethabo Seema, who placed 28th at the LSC Championship in 2021 and is a LSC Champion in track. She adds to a class that includes local products and runners from France, Denmark, and the Netherlands as well.
