Rick Goodwin is the first and only women's golf coach since the program was established in 2005.
As a former Aggie men's assistant coach, Goodwin was charged with the task of building from the ground up a Lady Aggie team scheduled to begin competition in Fall 2005. Goodwin was a member of the Cameron coaching staff from 1976 to 1984, assisting Aggie men's golf coach Jerry Hrnciar during Cameron's run to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) national championship in 1983.
In their second season, the Aggies won the 2007 Lone Star Conference Championship and has since been a team watch grow and develop in the Southwest. Goodwin also returns to the Cameron golf program with 24 years experience as a teaching professional, serving most recently as an Assistant Golf Professional at Lawton Country Club. He passed the Professional Golf Association (PGA) playability test in 1995 and became a Class A member of the PGA of America in 1998. Goodwin is a two-time attendee of the PGA Teaching and Coaching Summit.
Goodwin and his family have been members of the Lawton community for more than three decades. His wife, Beverly, is a Cameron graduate and retired school teacher. The couple have two children: Michael, who is also a Cameron graduate, and Megan, who played as a member of the University of Oklahoma women's golf team and now works as coordinator for the University of Oklahoma Athletic Alumni Association.
Goodwin is a United States Army and Viet Nam War veteran, severing six years of active duty as an Army aviator, achieving the rank of captain. He graduated from Officer Candidate School in 1968 and received a Commercial Instrument Pilot rating in 1969.
Along with being the head women's golf coach Goodwin is also the event coordinator for the athletic department.
