Cameron Falls to Midwestern, 91-82, as Hagan Posts 50

LAWTON, Okla. – Chris Hagan simply could not miss, and nothing the Aggies tried seemed to slow him down as the senior from Houston put up a school-record 50 points against the Aggies (7-3) who fell at home, 91-82.

Hagan was 17-for-26 (65-percent) from the field and added eight more points from the stripe to lead the Mustangs (7-1) over Cameron.

“Sometimes guys are going to get hot like that,” said Head Coach Wade Alexander. “We started to double him up but he still kept getting away and making buckets. Even with hands in his face, he found a way to make the basket.”

Milton Garner led the Aggies with 21 points and three rebounds while Desmond Henry has also seen his minutes increase. The 6-foot-4 freshman out of Dallas posted 15 points and seven rebounds. He was a perfect 5-for-5 from the field.

Cameron was able to keep the game a very back-and-forth affair until the Mustangs went on a 13-2 run to close the half up by 12. A furious Aggie rally late in the second, highlighted by a pair of contested jumpers by Vinicius Telo and Garner, closed the gap to a few as six. That was as close as the Aggies would get before sending Hagan to the line to pick up his 50th point of the evening.

For Cameron, the loss serves as an early test for a grueling road trip to currently undefeated Incarnate Word next week on Dec. 18. They will also visit Texas A&M-Kingsville on Dec. 20 before commencing their holiday break. T

he Aggie men return to action at home against Rhema Bible College on Dec. 16 in Aggie Gym. Tip off is scheduled for 7 p.m. Fans can purchase tickets at the Aggie Gym box office prior to tip off. Live stats and video streaming of the game can be found at goaggies.cameron.edu for Aggie fans who are unable to attend.
