Murray Posts Double-Double as Aggies Fall to Wildcats, 67-55

LAWTON, Okla. – Senior Nathan Murray scored 13 points and pulled down 11 rebounds but it was not enough as the Cameron Aggies (10-5) fell to the visiting Lone Star Conference South Division rival Abilene Christian Wildcats (8-4) Saturday night in Aggie Gym 67-55.

Murray’s layup to put the Aggies on top 2-0 was the only time Cameron led as Abilene was able to get the free throw line 32 times compared to just 11 for the Aggies.

Down 20-10, the Aggies were able to rally back to go into the break on the heels of a 15-8 run but were unable to keep their momentum into the second stanza. Abilene return from the break in a heavy press defense and forced Cameron to make early turnovers.

The visitors drew their lead to 13 with 14 minutes remaining and never let up.

Senior Dylan Gilliam posted 10 points and junior Milton Garner added 12, both on 4-of-11 shooting nights. As a team, the Aggies were 21-for-59 (35-percent) from the floor and 9-of-11 (82-percent) from the charity stripe.

Dosh Simms led the Wildcats with 13 points and six rebounds.

Cameron returns to action Wednesday, January 12 when they begin LSC North Division play against Northeastern State. Tip off is scheduled for 8 p.m. in Aggie Gym.
