Cameron Men Come Up With Big Win at Texas A&M-Commerce, 80-74

COMMERCE, Texas – The Cameron Aggies (16-9, 6-4 LSC North) went on the road and came up with a big win at Lone Star Conference North foe Texas A&M-Commerce (16-8, 6-4 LSC North), 80-74.

Milton Garner led the Aggies in scoring with 26 points while pulling down seven rebounds while Nathan Murray provided a toughness on the offensive glasses to push the Aggies over the top.

Murray finished with 10 points and 11 rebounds with nine of 11 coming on the offensive side.

Two other Aggies also went into double figures with Dylan Gilliam adding 19 off the bench and Desmond Henry tacking on 14.

The game was a tight affair throughout and featured six ties and seven lead changes. Cameron also put up 30 points in the paint while allowing the Lions to chalk just 16.

Commerce jumped out to a quick 13-2 lead before the Aggies settled in and went on a 20-9 run to tie the game at 22-22 with 9:19 remaining in the first.

The Lions pushed their lead back to six but Cameron was able to rally, and on the heels of a buzzer beating Murray jump shot, went into the half tied at 37-37.

A Garner layup with 7:00 to go put Cameron up 66-57 and they would not relinquish the lead.

Critical free throws late in the game kept Commerce at bay as the Aggies completed the regular season sweep of the Lions.

The Aggies now travel to LSC North Division rival Northeastern State on Wednesday, Feb. 23. Tip off for the men’s game is set for 8 p.m.
