Aggies Unable to Rally Against No. 7 UCO in Home Finale, 78-68

LAWTON, Okla. – On senior night, the Cameron Aggies (17-10, 7-5 LSC North) were unable to complete their late rally as they fell to No. 7 Central Oklahoma (25-3, 11-1 LSC North), 78-68, on Saturday night in Aggie Gym.

It was the final home game for three Aggie seniors: Dylan Gilliam, Terry Dawson, and Nathan Murray.

Murray led all rebounders with 10 while Gilliam was one of four Aggies to score in double figures with 15.

The game was tight early on and remained tied at 7-7 with 14:14 to go, but a Murray jumped put the Ags up 10-7 shortly after.

Gilliam sank a trey to make it 16-10 with 11:48 to go for their largest lead of the half.

The Bronchos used a 24-8 run over the next seven minutes to go up 10 at 34-24 but went into the half up just 35-33 after the Aggies made a 9-1 run of their own.

As the second half got underway, Central Oklahoma ran out to a 16 point advantage at 59-43 with 11:44 remaining.

With less than four minutes remaining, Head Coach Wade Alexander’s squad pushed themselves back into the conversation with a 10-0 run to make it a two point game at 67-65 with 3:27 remaining.

However, that was as close as they would get as the Bronchos pushed their lead back to ten to close out their regular season.

The Aggies locked up a third seed spot in the LSC Championship Playoffs to be held March 3-6 in Bartlesville, Okla. They will face LSC South foe West Texas A&M on Thursday, Mar. 3 at Noon in Bruin Field House.

Tickets and reservations for the charter bus to the game are still available by contacting the Cameron Department of Athletics at (580) 581-2302.
