LAWTON, Okla. – The Cameron University men’s golf team finished in seventh place at the Ryan Palmer Invitational in Amarillo, Texas with a three round total of 872. Â
Overall, CU shot a 292 in the third round with Corey Bounds leading the team with a score of 70 but Cameron was seven strokes higher than their second round to end yesterday.Â
Colorado School of Mines won the invite with a three round total of 856.
Individually, Austin Weaver was the highest finishing Aggie placing in 21st with a 217 (73-70-74). Kregg Wood finished in 27th with a 219 (74-69-76). Bradley Ferrell placed 32nd with a 202 (73-73-74). Corey Bounds shot a 221 (78-73-70) after three rounds which was good for 38th. Cullen Stahl had his best round of the invite today with a 74 and shot a 227 (75-78-74) which was good for 56nd.
Of the Lone Star Conference Schools at the invite only Abilene Christian finished ahead of the Aggies. ACU finished in fourth with a three round total of 864. Incarnate Word and Midwestern State tied for eighth with an 877. West Texas placed 10th with a score of 878. Texas A&M Commerce finished in 11th with an 885.
Cameron will take a week off before competing on Oct. 22-23 at the St. Mary’s Invitational in San Antonio.
