MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala. (March 27, 2012) — After a strong day one showing at the North Alabama Spring Classic, Cameron’s men’s golf team slipped to 7th place after the final round of golf at the Fighting Joes Golf Club.
Trey Lawson was the most consistent Aggie, finishing in a tie for 8th place with a final round of 73 for a 220. Kregg Wood’s 72 allowed him to finish with a 222, tying for 17th place. Michael Kelly shot a 77 in the final round to finish in a tie for 31st with a 226, followed by Garrett Smith in a tie for 60th place with an 82, for a total of 235. Austin Weaver rounded out the Black and Gold with an 84 to finish at 243, in a tie for 80th place.
The team will now prepare for the Dallas Baptist Classic at the Golf Club of Dallas. It will be the final tournament before CU travels to the conference tournament.
