Cameron falls 3-1 to Dallas Baptist

LAWTON, Okla.--Despite ten plus kill numbers by 3 players, the Cameron University volleyball team lost to Dallas Baptist tonight three sets to one tonight at their first home match (25-23, 25-23, 22-25, 25-19).

After falling behind two sets, rallied to take set three, but they could not hold off Dallas Baptist for the last set.

“This was a tough match for us emotionally,” said head coach Doug Tabbert.  “We had several players in their first home match but we had several opportunities tonight that we didn’t capitalize on.”

“Kat had a great night for us with 19 kills so that we encouraging to see from her.”

Leading the way offensively for the Aggies was Kathryn Evans who finished with 19 kills which was a career high for the freshman (second was 17 against Newman 9/1). Shannon Dulaney finished with another ten plus kill night with 14 and Rebecca Green added 11 kills. Additionally Jenna Risoli continued to rack up her assists with 45.

Defensively, the Aggies got 12 digs from Erin Hardy and 16 digs from Lauren Acuna.

This loss drops Cameron to 4-7 overall. They face Texas A&M Kingsville on Friday the 21st and Incarnate Word Saturday the 22nd, both at home in Aggie Gym.
