Aggies pull away from Alumni, winning 88-66

LAWTON, Okla. – In their only in game tune up before the regular season the Cameron University men's basketball team took down their past and future players, 88-66 on Saturday at the Aggie Gym.

The Alumni team gave the current Aggies trouble through 12 minutes of the first half but the present CU team held onto a four point advantage. Following a Will Cook three pointer and Tank Mayberry layup the present Aggies controlled the tempo for the rest of the half leading, 46-36.

Cameron's 2013-14 team continued to hold onto a double figure lead until the Alumni team popped back-to-back 3s to make it a 58-53 ball game at the 13 minute mark. A five point lead would be as close as it would get as the present Aggies open up a sizeable run to lead by 25 points at the two minute mark to win 88-66.

Craig Foster led the present CU team with 16 point and five assists. Will Cook added 13 points, with Desmond Henry chipping in 12; Tank Mayberry led the Aggies with 12 boards and seven points.

Maurice Cubit led the Alumni squad with 18 points, with Greg Morgan adding 13, while Kallan Glasgow chipped in 10 points.

Cameron will return to action for the Region Classic at the Aggie Gym on Nov. 8-9 to play Oklahoma Panhandle and UT-Permian Basin at 6 p.m.
