Box Score

LAWTON, Okla. – It took an extra five minutes, but the Aggies won their third overtime game this season and second in a row, 67-62 over Abilene Christian at the Aggie Gym on Saturday night.

Cameron (15-7, 11-5 LSC) coughed up a late five point lead with 50 seconds remaining to ACU who took advantage of a CU five second violation and got a layup and three pointer to send the game into overtime.

In the extra period, Cameron went on a fast 7-0 run after a pair of layups and a Tim Johnson trey to take a 60-53 advantage.  The Aggies would maintain the lead and go onto winning their twelfth game at home in a row and maintain their second place spot in the Lone Star Conference.

Craig Foster and Johnson led the Ags with 17 points.  Foster added nine assists and pushed his season average to 5.77.  Rudy Harrell came up big in the overtime period with 10 points and nine rebounds.  While Andrew Thomas “Country” put up seven points and nine boards.

Abilene Christian (11-13, 5-11 LSC) had three players in double figures and was led by Eric Lawton with 18 points; Dosh Simms added 13, while Elliott Lloyd chipped in 11.

The Aggies led as many as 11 points toward the end of the first half but they struggled in the second period shooting 21.7 percent from the field that helped allow the Wildcats to fight back.

As a team Cameron, despite the second half struggles, shot 43.6 percent from the field, while ACU went 31.0 percent.  In the battle of the boards, Cameron for the eighth time this season got out-rebounded 46-to-31.   However, CU tied a season high eight blocks with Aaron Thompson tying a career mark of three against ACU.

Cameron will be at home on Feb. 20 at the Aggie Gym to host LSC foe Tarleton State, at 8 p.m.
