Box Score COMMERCE, Texas – Cameron concluded their Lone Star Conference regular season with a 69-63 win over Texas A&M-Commerce on Saturday night and have now won seventeen games which ties Head Coach Wade Alexander’s career high mark set in the 2011-12 season.Â
The win was also Cameron’s fifth in a row and they have won 12 of their last 14 games.
The Aggies (17-7, 13-5 LSC) who already clinched the number two seed in the LSC Tournament in Allen, Texas on Mar. 6 needed the win to help their NCAA South Central Regional Resume.  In the first of three polls released on Wednesday Cameron was selected eight by the NCAA committee and only the top eight programs in each region are invited into the NCAA National Tournament.
Rudy Harrell proved to be a force for the Ags getting a double-double with 11 rebounds and 11 points. Craig Foster who had a quiet game earlier this week against Tarleton State went off for 20 second half points and ended the night with 23. Asaad Robinson added 14 points, while Tim Johnson chipped in 13 respectfully.Â
Texas A&M Commerce (14-12, 7-9 LSC) had four players with double-figures with Jason Smith, Stefon Carson, and Andrew Davis all getting 11 points.
Both teams struggled shooting the ball throughout the night with Cameron going 31.6 percent from the field and A&M-Commerce shooting 30.5 percent. The key difference on the floors was Cameron ability to hit shots from downtown and slow down the Lion offence. Cameron had eight treys while A&M-Commerce had three.
The Aggies trailed at the half by one point, 28-27 but an 11-2 run past the midway point in the second half helped CU carry the momentum down the stretch and earn the six point win in Commerce.
Cameron will close out the regular season at the Aggie Gym hosting Northwood University in non-conference action on Feb. 28 at 7:30 p.m. The Aggies are perfect at home this season and have won their last 13 games in Lawton.
