LAWRENCE, KS -- Cool weather and winds didn't slow down the Cameron University runners at the KU Relays in Lawrence.
Cameron raced with temperatures just above freezing and 15 mph winds but had three runners break personal records.
The Aggies had five runners in the 1500 meter race with Janis Pastors leading the Black & Gold to a third place finish with a time of 4:02.56. Tyler Jacobs placed 51st with 4:28.81, Steve Orwell finished in 54th with a 4:31.24, and Cole Atchinson placed in 57th running a 4:32.78.
Antonio Moreno ran unattached in the 1500 meter and placed 33rd with a 4:16.30.
In the 10000 meter the Aggies had three runners who excelled with personal best times. Cody Campbell placed 17th with a personal best time of 32:02.82, his time was sixth on Cameron's all-time list. Grant Wignall finished in 22nd with a 32:30.92; this was a personal best for Wignall, and 11th on Cameron's all-time list.
Thomas Toth ran unattached and finished sixth with a personal best time of 31:09:69.
The KU Relays concludes the Cameron Cross Country team's spring season, they will return to action in the fall.
