Aggies drop pair in Durant

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2
DURANT, Okla. – Cameron had some offensive runs in the first day of the South Central Classic but they would fall 3-1 to Southern Nazarene and 3-0 in the nightcap against Southeastern Oklahoma.

"It wasn't a good day for us," said head coach Doug Tabbert. "We had runs of momentum in both matches but we would make an unforced error to stop any sort of gains we made."

In the first match against SNU, the first set was close with neither team getting more than a two point lead, but SNU would overtake CU late, 28-26.

The second set would be all Cameron who jumped out to a four point lead early and never looked back, winning the set, 25-21.

However, SNU would drop the Aggies in the final two sets 25-18 and 25-21.

Kat Evans led the Aggie offense with 21 kills, while Lauren Acuna added a career high 25 digs.

In the nightcap, Southeastern took an early lead in the first set, and Cameron had to battle to come back late but they would fall 25-20.

Neither the second or third sets would go Cameron's way with the team hitting just over .100 percent. The Aggies would fall to the Savage Storm, 25-23 and 25-18.

Kelle Carver gave CU 10 kills, while Kelsie Coplen chipped in nine. Kayla Hebert had a double-double with 26 assists and 11 digs.

"We can learn from today but we need move on and play a couple of good matches tomorrow at East Central," said Tabbert.

Cameron will return to action tomorrow against East Central at 1 p.m. and Northwestern Oklahoma at 5 p.m in Ada.
