ADA, Okla. – Cameron got back on the winning track relying on
Kat Evans and
Kelle Carver to take down East Central 3-1 (25-15, 23-25, 25-19, 25-20) this afternoon.
The Aggies steamrolled the Tigers in the first set recording 11 kills, while making only two errors. Cameron would lead from start to finish taking the set 25-15.
In set two, both teams were locked in a tight battle with eight ties. Despite this, East Central used a .353 attack percentage to split the match winning 25-23.
Following the set two intermission, Cameron regained their composer and overwhelmed East Central with 10 service aces and 30 kills, winning 25-19 and 25-20.
The Tigers edged Cameron in their attack percentage .265 vs. .252, but it was the Aggies 15 aces that made the difference for the win.
Evans recorded 14 kills to lead CU, while Carver racked up 13, and
Shannon DuLaney chipped in a season high 11.
Jenna Risoli had her 24th career double-double with 26 assists and 10 digs.
Cameron will play one more match at 5 p.m. today against Northwestern Oklahoma.
