Aggies swept by #9 Angelo State

SAN ANGELO, Texas – Cameron's skid hit three matches after being swept by number-9 Angelo State, 12-25, 12-25, 17-25.

The loss for Cameron (4-7, 0-3 LSC) keeps the Aggies winless in the Lone Star Conference standings. For Angelo State (8-2, 2-0 LSC) they remain undefeated in conference play.

"For whatever reason we got off to a slow start today, and when you're going up like a team we faced today you are asking for trouble," said head coach Doug Tabbert. "Unlike yesterday, we came ready to compete in every phase of the game. Today was the complete opposite."

"We've got a lot of people who are banged up right now, so having sometime of will give us a chance to get healthy."

The Rambelles controlled the match with the exception of set two early on. Cameron matched up well keeping the set tied at the nine point mark. However, Angelo State would go on a 16-3 run to sink the Aggies.

As a team, Cameron was held to a -.008 attack percentage getting 22 kills, while making 23 errors. Kelle Carver led the team with eight kills with Kat Evans trailing her by one. Lauren Acuna added a match high 15 digs.

Angelo State had a .264 attack percentage with a pair of players with double-figure kills and six service aces.

Cameron will have nearly a week off before hosting Texas A&M Commerce to start a four match homestand on Friday, Sept. 27 at 7 p.m.
