Game Notes

First tip:  The Aggies opened their season at home with a 2-0 start following wins over Harding and East Central. Cameron stunned Harding in the season opener with a 66-65 come from behind win after Caitlin Clancy shot a three pointer with two seconds remaining. The Aggies were outshot by the Lady Bison from the field 38.6% to 36.7% and outrebounded by two with 38.

The offensive spread for the Aggies was split between nine individuals with Brittany Hill coming up with 12 and both Charron Montgomery and Clancy having 11.  DJ Vallier and Briana Underwood paced CU in boards with five each. A strong fourth quarter by the Aggie women paved the way to a 63-49 over East Central the following day as Cameron held the Tigers to five points in the final 10 minutes with Dayla Threatt leading the Aggies with 15 points. CU shot 48.9 (23-47) from the field and 31.6% (6-19) from the arc.

About Emporia State:  With the release of the NCAA Division II USA Today Coaches Poll earlier this month, the Lady Hornets are ranked number-one in the nation following a national tournament appearance during the 2014-15 season. Emporia State advanced to the Final Four last season but fell in the semi-finals to California (Pa.) who would go on to win the national tournament after defeating Cal Baptist. The Lady Hornets ended the season with a 29-5 record and a Central Regional championship title.

The team returns four starters including first-team All-MIAA performer and MIAA Tournament MVP Kelly Moten, and MIAA Freshman of the Year Addie Lackey. Emporia State opened the current season with wins against Southwestern Oklahoma State and Oklahoma Baptist. Moten scored 44 total points in Emporia State's 2-0 weekend, recording two steals in each game.

CU vs. ESU Series:  The Aggies are 1-5 all-time against Emporia State and have not beaten the Hornets since the 1986-87 season in Emporia.  This is also the first meeting between the two programs since the 2007-08 season when they did a home-and-home series.

Up Next:  Cameron will return to the Aggie Gym on Nov. 21 for a contest with Oklahoma Christian before hitting the road to Canyon, Texas for the West Texas A&M Lady Buff Invite Nov. 27-28.
