Game Notes

First tip: Cameron will be looking to finish their non-conference slate on a winning note and a three game winning streak into the break.  Saturday's contest will be CU's third home contest this season out of 12 games.  On the road, the Aggies are 4-2 in true away contests but have faired poorly on a neutral court by going winless in three tries. Presently Cameron has a three game winning streak at home in the Aggie Gym.

Deondre Ray leads the Aggies in scoring by averaging 13.2 ppg, and Jamaal Brantley is right behind him with 13 ppg and also leads the team in rebounding, grabbing 6.7 boards per game. Cameron Lee is third in scoring for the Aggies and first in 3-point field goals, making 1.6 per contest and is shooting .31% at the arc. Leading in assists with 4.1 per outing is JV Long.

Last time out: Despite trailing most of the game, the Aggies upended Northwestern Oklahoma 72-70 on the road Tuesday evening thanks to a JV Long buzzer beating layup. NWOSU led for a majority of the first half with Cameron grabbing the lead twice but could not capitalize beyond a one point advantage as the Rangers led 36-33 going to the locker room. It was a similar story to begin the second half as CU stole the one point advantage twice; however, fouls threatened to thwart the Aggies' comeback hopes as the Rangers went 13-18 from the line, and CU struggled hitting 2-8 for 25%. The game tied at 70 and with four seconds left, Deondre Ray's inbound pass found its way to JV Long who dribbled his way through a season of NWOSU defenders to get a fingertip roll-in as time expired for the win. From the field, CU finished 46.8% (29-62) and NWOSU had 44.4% (24-54) on the floor. Cameron had one trey over the Ranger's with five to end the game at 26.3% behind the arc. At the charity stripe, the Aggies went 9-17 total (52.9%) to NWOSU's 18-26 (69.2%). Cameron Lee led the Aggie offense with 19 points, hitting three of CU's five treys. Ray was the other Aggie in double figures with 11 points in addition to eight boards.

About Southwestern Adventist: Cameron is the first Lone Star Conference program to face Southwestern Adventist this season; Tarleton State will play them in late February as the only other league program to face the Knights.  In the Heartland Conference, the Knights lost in all four meetings with teams averaging 103 points while allowing 63 points.  As a team this season, the Knights are shooting 41.3% from the field and have two players averaging over 20 points per outing.  Jacolby Crawford is leading the Knights with 22.4 points, and he is shooting  45% from the field; the senior guard had a 32 point outing in a 118-70 loss at UA-Fort Smith. Southwestern Adventist will be coming in from Ada on Friday before facing the Aggies on Saturday night.

CU vs. SWAU: This will be the third meeting between the Knights and Aggies with both appearances happening in Lawton.  Cameron has won both of those contests by a 30 point average.  JV Long is the only Aggie on the current roster who has faced Southwestern Adventist in 2013.  Long played 20 minutes as a true-freshman scoring five points, and added three steals.
