KINGSVILLE, Texas – Cameron's luck at Texas A&M-Kingsville didn't change on Wednesday night after leading for the first 32 minutes the Aggies would fall 72-67. The loss will send them to 11-13 overall and 3-9 in Lone Star Conference play.Â
Both teams had parallel halves with Cameron shooting 50 percent and Texas A&M-Kingsville going just over 30 percent from the field. The second half was the opposite and the Javelinas took advantage by outscoring CU 43 to 33.
Desmond Henry led the Aggies with 25 points, two short of a career high, he also led CU with nine rebounds and five assists.
Matthew Don was the only other Aggie in double-figures with 12, both
Cameron Lee and
Jamaal Brantley added nine each.Â
James Cross who was limited to eight minutes managed to have the Aggies second best rebounding night with six.
Rebounding battle was even at 41 but the Aggies would commit six more turnovers with 14 and the Javelinas outscored Cameron 23-13 in points off turnovers.  Texas A&M-Kingsville shot the ball slightly better with 41.5 percent shooting, compared to Cameron's 39.7 percent.  Neither team had a great night at the line with both teams shooing around 61 percent.
The Javelinas had a pair in double-figures with Duan Wright netting 23 and Jordan Jahr having a double-double with 18 points and 14 rebounds.
The Aggies showed some early dominance and led as many as 12 points with six minutes to go in the first half. Cold shooting by the Ags in the next five minutes allowed the Javelinas to get within one (30-29) with a just under a minute left; Cameron would score four points unanswered to lead by five at the half.
Cameron never would trail through the first 10 minutes of the second half and they would lead by nine, with 14 minutes to go. However at the midway marker, the Javelinas sniffed their way back and pulled ahead 57-55 after layup with 8:22 to go and they would never relinquish the lead the rest of the way.
With the win over the Aggies, Texas A&M-Kingsille will pull even with Cameron for sixth place with two games remaining on CU's schedule. Â Â Cameron has lost nine of their last eleven contests and they are 1-5 on the road in the LSC loop.
Cameron will return home to face Angelo State for homecoming on Saturday, Feb. 21 at 6 p.m. Â
