Renneker’s go-ahead homer gives CU a 4-2 win over Lubbock Christian

MANSFIELD, Texas – Lauren Renneker's go-ahead homer helped Cameron rebound back from a disappointing 9-1 loss to Texas-Permian Basin and beat Lubbock Christian 4-2 on Thursday afternoon.

The Lady Chaps (8-3) were selected to win the Heartland Conference lost earlier in the day to Midwestern State.

Two scoreless innings would go by before Carly Allerheiligen and Macy McKay reached with one out in the home half of the third, they would both later advance off of a LCU wild pitch.
With two outs, Chelsea DeLong drove both runners in with a double down the right field line to give CU the lead.

However, that advantage was short lived and a leadoff walk in the fourth led to a two run homer to even the game at two.  Cameron struck back quickly and Paige Daino singled to open the bottom half of the inning and Lauren Renneker hit her third homer of the season to give the Ags the go-ahead runs.

The lead was more than enough for Kelsey Watson who came in and recorded the final out in the fourth inning and finished the game with six strikeouts for the win.  Katelyn Craker started the game for Cameron went 3 2/3 innings, with two earned runs, and four strikeouts.

With the split the Aggies are 8-2 overall and they will face Oklahoma Panhandle and Texas Wesleyan on Friday, live coverage will only be available against TWU.

Note: Statistics from Cameron's game against Texas-Permian Basin are not presently available and will be added during the weekend.
