MANSFIELD, Texas – A combination of strong hitting and pitching guided Cameron to a pair of wins on Friday afternoon, beating Oklahoma Panhandle 10-0 and Texas Wesleyan 12-0.
Cameron's scoring revolved around the long ball with four homers, scoring 10 of the Aggies runs against the Rams.
Tara Martini hit two homers, both two RBI shots,
Lauren Renneker hit her fourth homer of the year, and
Breezy McComas hit CU's third grand slam of the season.
Katelyn Craker tossed a clean four innings with two hits given up, and
Betsy Woodall came in and recorded the final three outs.
All of Cameron's scoring was accomplished in the first three innings with Martini opening the game with a two run shot, scoring
Carly Allerheiligen, and Renneker gave CU a 3-0 lead with a solo blast.
In the second inning, the Ags hung a seven on the scoreboard that was started with a
Paige Daino single to score
Misty Dooley and
Macy McKay.
Sonora Zukerman later hit a fielder's choice to score Martini in from third, and McComas cleared the bases to give the Aggies a 10-0 lead.
Martini capped off the Aggies scoring in the third with a two out homer to center field.
With the wins Cameron will climb up to 10-2 overall and they will turnaround and play one more on Saturday, against Baker (KS).
