FRISCO, Texas – The Cameron University men's golf team will be playing for theor tenth Lone Star Conference Championship after beating West Texas A&M 3-2 in medal match play and will face Midwestern State in the final round on Tuesday.
Zander Winston celebrated his birthday on Monday by leading the Aggies on the individual scoreboard with a 142 (72+70) and he is in second place overall.

Cullen Stahl in fifth (75+71=146),
Dylan McClure and
Bradley Ferrell are both tied for seventh with matching 147 scores;Â
Corey Bounds is in 19th place with a 154 (76+78) through two rounds.
The match play format like last year's tournament is seeded based off of first round scores and Midwestern State took a one stroke lead with a 290 for the top spot. Cameron would be in second place and faced West Texas A&M in the semifinal, the Mustangs were paired with Texas A&M-Commerce.
Winston guided the Aggies to a point with two-under par in the second round and finishing four strokes up on WT, McClure was two-over but won by seven strokes, Bounds ended the round down two strokes, and Ferrell was four strokes back to split the match 2-2. Stahl was the last remaining golfer on the course for CU and held out to a one stroke lead to put the Aggies in the championship round.Â
On the other side of the bracket, MSU would win over Texas A&M-Commerce 4-1 to set up a finals date with the Aggies.
The Aggies would have their showdown with the Mustangs on Tuesday starting at 10:56 a.m.Â
