DENTON – The number-25 Aggie softball team split a pair of games at Texas Woman's Friday, falling 7-3 in game one, but coming back and run ruling the Pioneers in five innings in game two, 11-1.

The split pushed CU's record to 27-10 overall and 9-7 in Lone Star Conference play.
Cameron fell behind early in game one, giving up four runs to the Pioneers in the bottom of the second inning  on four hits and one CU error and then one more in the fourth to give TWU the 5-0 lead.
The Aggies finally got on the board in the top of the sixth as Martini hit an RBI single to score
Misty Dooley who singled earlier in the inning.
Breezy McComas then hit a two run double that brought in Martini and
Macy McKay to cut the TWU lead to 5-3.
However, the Pioneers but a two spot on the board in their half of sixth and held CU off the board in the seventh to get the 7-3 win.
Kelsey Watson (13-4) went all six innings and gave up five earned runs on 10 hits with two strikeouts in the loss. Both McKay and
Carly Allerheiligen led CU with a pair of hits each.
The Aggies had a big first inning in game two as
Lauren Renneker kicked off the inning by driving in Dooley, who reached on a walk earlier, on a two out single to left. After back to back hits by
Paige Daino and McComas, Allerheiligen added another run for Cameron by driving in Renneker on another single to left. In the next at-bat
Sonora Zukerman drove in two runs of her own on a double down the line to put CU up 4-0. The Aggies were not done as Allerheiligen scored on a wild pitch and Zukerman came across on a
Makenzie Burk infield single. Up in her second at bat of the inning, Dooley singled in Burk to give CU the early 7-0 lead. The Aggies had eight two out hits in the first frame as TWU went through three different pitchers.
Cameron was back at it in inning number two as Daino hit her 12th homer of the season to lead off the inning. Walks by McComas, Zukerman, and McKay loaded the bases for the Ags, and then another walk by Dooley added another run to the board. Martini then singled in her 165th and 166th RBI of her career to give CU the 11-0 lead.
That's all the run support starter
Katelyn Craker (6-2) needed as she gave up just one run on three hits and struck out two in the five inning run rule win.
Daino led CU with three hits in game two, while Dooley, McComas, and Zukerman all had two hits each; Dooley, Martini, and Zukerman all had two RBI.
With the split, TWU moves to 17-18-1 overall and 9-6-1 in league play.
Cameron will return to action next weekend, April 10-11, as they host Tarleton State for a four game series.
