Last time out: Cameron used a 47 point second half and superior defense to shut down a Texas A&M-Commerce nine game winning streak to beat the Lions 66-57 on Wednesday night. Â The Aggies trailed as many as 18 points to the Lions with poor shooting in the first half and now have six of their last eight contests.
Prior to their contest with the Aggies, Texas A&M-Commerce have averaged over 90 points a game.
Cameron Lee proved to be clutch for the Aggies after going scoreless in the first half, the senior had a team high 19 points. Â
Jamaal Brantley was a board short of the double-double with 18 points and nine rebounds. Â
Deondre Ray also hit double-figures for the Ags with 14 points.
About Angelo State:Â The Rams opened the season at 12-0 and were No. 4 until the squad hit a skid beginning conference play with losses to No. 9 Tarleton State and Texas A&M-Commerce to drop 11 spots in the polls. ASU has since rebounded with wins over West Texas A&M and Eastern New Mexico to bring their overall record to 14-2 and 2-2 in the LSC and will face CU has the No. 11 team in the nation. ASU is shooting 47% from the field, 36% behind the arc, and a league best 74% at the charity stripe. The Rams are led by Allen Stedman and Tre Bennett who each average roughly 16 points per game. On Friday, Bennett was named to the Small College Basketball Bevo Francis Award Top 100 Watch List. The senior has knocked down double-figure points in the past six games.

CU vs. ASU Series:Â Cameron trails the overall series with the Rams 25-18 but in Lawton as a four-year institution the Aggie lead the series 12-6 and have won the last five-of-six. Â On homecoming last season, the Aggies stunned a then number-10 ranked ASU team 81-78 in front of the home faithful. Â At the time, Angelo State had lost only two games and CU dropped six of their last seven. Â In the last two seasons, the Aggies have seen their season end at the hands of the Rams in the LSC Tournament.
