About the Aggies
Cameron, who was picked seventh in the Lone Star Conference Preseason Poll, returns a team who went 16-12 last season and split each of the two non-conference tournaments they played in. New head coach Andrew Brown and his Aggie team of seven returners and seven newcomers will return to the LSC/Heartland Challenge, this time hosted by Texas A&M-Commerce, where they suffered an 81-79 loss to Newman and beat Oklahoma Christian 83-67 just a season ago.

Newman
The Jets were picked eighth in the Heartland Conference Preseason Poll after coming off of a year where they went 17-13 overall. They return two players who started last season and two more that saw significant playing time. NU's leading returning scorer is Daniel Nwosu Jr., who averaged 10 points while playing 20 minutes a game last year. The LSC/Heartland Challenge will be their first official game of the season.

All-Time vs. Newman
- Overall: 2-1 Newman
- Before their last meeting in 2015, the Aggies had not played the Jets since 1970.
- Last meeting: Nov. 11, 2015 in Oklahoma City, Okla. (81-79 NU win)

Oklahoma Christian
The Eagles went 7-21 last season and were picked ninth in the Heartland Preseason Poll. However, they return their 7-0 center John Moon, who was named to the Heartland Preseason Team and Sporting News Division II Preseason All-American. Moon had 21 points and 14 rebounds in an exhibition loss to Division I Tulsa, and then followed that up with a 28 point, 10 rebound performance in an exhibition win over Southwestern (Kan.). Additionally, transfer guard Marcus Mathieu added 25 points to the OCU winning cause.

All-Time vs. Oklahoma Christian
- Overall: 6-5 Cameron
- Cameron has won the last three meetings, which were the only meetings between the teams since 1982.
- Last meeting: Nov. 14, 2015 in Oklahoma City, Okla. (83-67 CU win)
