Our Lady of the Lake (1-0)
After falling in both of their exhibitions against Rice and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, the Saints won their first official game against the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma, 97-92. Against USAO, OLLU shot 44 percent from the field, 37 percent from the three point line and 82 percent from the charity stripe. They turned the ball over 14 times, but forced 29 turnovers with 11 of those coming off of steals. Individually, Joe Jackson tallied a 31 point, 12 rebound double-double, while going 3-5 from three point range. Maurice Jackson also connected on three deep balls, on his way to a 17 point performance. Also in double figures for the Saints were Dilepso Blanco with 16 and Darion Brown with 13.
This is the first time in school history that the Saints have played the Aggies.
Looking Back
Cameron tallied a 91-57 win over Dallas Christian in their home opener on Tuesday. CU shot 51 percent from the field, 50 percent from three point range, and 70 percent from the free throw line. They won the rebounding battle 49-35, and on defense blocked five shots and recorded nine steals.
Tyler Williams led the Aggies with 17 points, while
Elish Benjamin and
Bryan Mitchell each had 11 points and
Delvonte Pierre and
Tyus Momoh each had 10. Williams also led CU with four assists, while Pierre,
Stacey Lambert,
Trey Hall, and
Christian Barrett each had a team leading seven rebounds.
