STEPHENVILLE, Texas – The Aggie volleyball team was swept in straight sets (25-11, 25-20, 25-15) by Tarleton State on Saturday afternoon.
The TexAnns outmatched the Aggies at the net with 47 kills, nine blocks and seven aces.
Cameron recorded 29 kills, two blocks and one ace.
Jenna Gillean led the Ags with 11 kills,
Shelby Pohlmeyer with 18 assists and
Katrina Campbell with 14 digs.
TSU began the match with a 6-0 start as they climbed away from the Aggies. Another late run of seven helped the TexAnns reach set point, which CU fended off for two plays notching points off a kill and TSU error.
A kill by Abby Mackey retired the set 25-11 TexAnns as Cameron's offense struggled posting seven kills but matching them with seven errors.
The Aggies grabbed an early lead in the second set, sustaining through six TexAnn ties before TSU broke away with a 9-1 run with just an attack error in between to hold an 18-10 advantage.
Cameron would come as close as four points, but TSU held on for the 25-20 set two win.
Leading 21-15 in the third set, TSU chained four straight points for the 25-15 set and match victory.
Hailey Roberts led the TexAnns with 18 kills as TSU advances to 22-5 overall and 14-4 in the Lone Star Conference.
Cameron drops to 3-24 and 1-17 in the league as the Aggies will face Midwestern State on Tuesday for their next match.
