Aggies take on Texas Woman's in LSC Tournament

First Tip: Cameron enters its 11th LSC tournament as the sixth seed and will face third seed Texas Woman's in Game 5 of the Women's Quaterfinal. The Aggies ended regular season play at 9-7 in the league and 15-10 overall. Cameron has won their last three games including a most recent 77-61 victory over Midwestern State to close out the regular season in Aggie Gym. The Aggies never trailed and would drain 13 three-pointers over the Mustangs.

Dayla Threatt leads the Aggies with 13.9 points per game, second best in scoring in the LSC. Brandi Leal is behind her, averaging 11.5 points per game while sitting first in the league at 3.2 three-point field goals per game. On the defensive end, DJ Vallier averages 6.3 boards and 1.4 blocks per outing for the Aggies.

CU at the LSC Tournament: The Aggies are 1-10 in the LSC postseason and have dropped their last five in a row since beating Texas A&M-Kingsville in 2002. Seeding wise, this is the second time CU has been placed at number-6 in the field with 1993 as the last time this has happened.  The meeting on Thursday with TWU will be their first postseason matchup.

About Texas Woman's: The Pioneers advance to their 13th overall Lone Star Conference tournament after compiling a 10-6 league record and 20-8 overall record this season. The appearance is also TWU's sixth in the last seven years. Leading the Pioneers is Kenesha Saygo (12 ppg) and Erin Maxwell (11.1 ppg). Maxwell is first in the LSC in rebounds (7.9 rpg) and blocks (2.7 bpg), helping her squad to 1st overall with 4.96 blocks per game. Continuing on the defensive side, the Pioneers are also first in field goal percentage defense (34.3%) and 3-point FG percentage defense (23.9%), as well as leading in defensive boards per game (30 rpg).

Last Time vs. TWU: Cameron has defeated the Pioneers twice this season, taking the first contest 75-69 in the Aggie Gym and most recently defeated TWU on the road 77-70. A fast start for the Aggies guided them to the road win as Cameron out-scored the Pioneers 23-12 in the first quarter.The Aggies led for over 37 minutes and knocked down eight treys against a TWU squad that was ranked fourth in the latest NCAA South Central Regional Poll. Dayla Threatt led Cameron with 17 points, and she added eight boards. Brandi Leal had 15 points with four made shots from beyond the arc.

CU vs. TWU the Series: Cameron has won their last four meetings with Texas Woman's with the series tied at 19-19. Thursday's meeting is the first time both programs have met in the LSC tournament, but they are 2-2 historically when meeting on a neutral floor.  In eight seasons, head coach Tom Webb is 7-9 when facing Texas Woman's.
