COMMERCE, Texas– The Cameron volleyball team lost 3-1 (25-13, 23-25, 25-15, 25-10) to Texas A&M-Commerce on Friday evening.
The Lions generated 63 kills to power past the Aggies' 31 kills to pair with a .255 hitting clip on the match.
Jenna Gillean extended her streak of matches with 10 or more kills to 13 after knocking down a team high 10 kills against the Lions. She also recorded 11 digs for her fourth double-double of the season.
Kylee Quillin led with 20 digs, and
Shelby Pohlmeyer contributed a team high 22 assists.
Paige Dixon and
Joseline Caraveo combined for two blocks each.
In set one, the TAMUC jumped to a 7-0 start combining for 15 kills and hit .250 to CU's .051 for a 25-13 game win.
Cameron would take the second set 25-23 outlasting 13 tie scores in a tightly contested game. The final tie occurred at 23-23, but a kill by
Sabra Washington followed by Lion attack error brought CU the win.
For set three, TAMUC would take the last five points for the 25-15 set win followed by a fourth set 25-10 victory after hitting a match high .342.
Daisge Smith led the Lions with 15 kills.
Cameron is now 2-12 overall and 0-6 in the LSC, while TAMUC moves to 9-6 and 3-2 in the league.
Next, the Aggies will conclude their four match road trip in Denton against Texas Woman's at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
