Momoh drops 24 points in exhibition

LAWTON, Okla. – Tyus Momoh led the Cameron University men's basketball team with 24 points in their 90-78 exhibition win over the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma on Saturday night.

Momoh, a junior guard, was very efficient in CU's first official tune up for the upcoming season, going 7-13 from the field, 6-7 from thee, and 4-4 from the free throw line. He also added three assists and two rounds in his 25 minutes of action.

The Aggies as a whole shot 46.8 percent from the field, while going almost 40 percent from three point range and 76.7 percent from the charity stripe. They totaled 44 rebounds and 17 assists, while getting three steals and a block on the defensive end.

Delano Jones put in a strong effort in his first game wearing the black and gold, putting up 19 points on 8-10 from the field. CU also got good performance from JV Long, who had 12 points, and senior forward Bryce Elie, who had a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds.

On the other side of the court, Hutch Peterson led the Drovers with 18 points, while Brandon Scott and Luis Baltazar each had 12 points. As a team, USAO shot 42 percent from the field, 28.6 percent from three, and 60 percent from the foul line. They had three blocks and five steals.

Saturday's contest was the first and only exhibition for the Aggies, as they will officially start the season on Nov. 10 when they take on Newman at the Heartland/Lone Star Conference Challenge in Wichita, Kan.
