About the Aggies:
The Aggies return three starters from last season and have three more players who played significant minutes during the 2016-17 season. Tyus Momoh, JV Long, and Tyler Williams return for their junior seasons for CU, coming off a season where they all three averaged more than 10 points per contest. They are joined by fellow returners Jalen Nicholas, Jordan Lewis, and Elish Benjamin, who each saw significant playing time a season ago. Cameron will also have three red-shirt players, including Johann Tate and Delano Jones, three transfers, including senior forward Bryce Elie, and true freshman Trent Crow, who is expected to redshirt, all on the roster this season.

After beginning his Cameron head coaching career with a 17-12 overall record and a 10-8 Lone Star Conference mark, Andrew Brown and his squad were picked to finish eighth in the league preseason poll, four spots behind their finish in the conference standings at the end of the 2016-17 season. This tune up with USAO gave the Aggie fans and the rest of the league and nation a first glimpse of what this crop of CU players brings to the table.

Scouting Newman:
Newman is coming off of a season where they went 9-19 overall and 7-11 in Heartland play. NU's top returning scorer from last year is Allen Wilson, who averaged 6.6 points in 18.3 minutes of action. They have a lot of new faces, including Ben Ayre, who led the team with 14 points in their exhibition against Wichita State earlier this week. Ayre is a junior from Melbourne, Australia, who was a two time all-conference player and averaged 15.2 points at Skagit Valley College in Washington. Also joining the Jets is Dametrius Walker, who scored 11 points against WSU. Walker comes to Newman from For Scott Community College, where he averaged 17.5 points and five rebounds a contest and was Freshman of the Year and was third on the all-time scoring list.

All-Time vs. NU:
CU leads 4-3
Cameron is 3-0 at home
Last meeting: Nov. 11, 2016 in Commerce, Texas (72-57 CU win)

Scouting Oklahoma Christian:
Oklahoma Christian returns one of their top-3 scorers in Elijah Strickland from a team that went 8-18 last season and 3-15 in the Heartland. Strickland averaged 11.5 points per contest a year ago and was very efficient from the charity stripe, making almost 90 percent of his free throw attempts. He will be joined by Miroslav Jaksic, a 6'11" senior from Ontario, Canada, who went 13-15 from the field for 26 points in the Eagles exhibition win over Randall; Strickland added 17 points in 11 rebounds, while juco transfer Roderick Smith had 11 points and 11 rebounds as will in the 88-76 victory.

All-Time vs. OCU:
CU leads 11-10
Cameron has won the last four meetings
Last meeting: Nov. 12, 2016 in Commerce, Texas (73-61 CU win)

Looking Back:
In the Aggies one and only exhibition this season, CU took down the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma 90-78 on Oct. 28. The Black and Gold shot over 46 percent from the field and almost 40 percent from three point range, while going 23-30 from the free throw line. They got 34 of their 90 points from the paint and 32 from the bench. Tyus Momoh led CU with 24 points, going 6-7 from deep, while Delano Jones went 8-10 from the field with 19 points in 20 minutes of action. Cameron's senior transfer, Bryce Elie, recorded a double-double in his first game in front of the Aggie faithful, scoring 14 points and grabbing 11 rebounds.

Looking Ahead:
Next up for the Cameron men is the Fairfield Inn Classic in Warrensburg, Mo. They will face the host team, Central Missouri on Thursday, Nov. 16 at 6 p.m. and then Maryville on Friday, Nov. 17 at 4 p.m.
