Looking Forward: Cameron will play four matches in two days against teams from the Great American Athletic Conference and Heartland Conference. Cameron opens their season with Southern Nazarene on Friday morning, the team who won the GAC tournament last season and made an appearance in the NCAA South Central Region Championship before falling to No. 1 seed Concordia-St. Paul. Later, the Aggies will take on Southern Arkansas who have already begun play this season by splitting their opening matches, falling 3-0 to John Brown University while nabbing a four-set victory over Williams Baptist College.
Â
To close out the South Central Classic on Saturday CU will have a pair of evening matches against Dallas Baptist and Ouachita Baptist. DBU was tabbed fifth in the Heartland Conference preseason poll after finishing last season with an 8-20 overall record with a 5-9 league mark. Ouachita Baptist returns to the court after winning a share of the regular season GAC title last season and made it to the semi-finals of the GAC tournament. Ania Keene who posted 147 kills (second on team) and 17 service aces and
Paige Dixon who downed 140 kills, 31 blocks and 2.44 digs per set. On the defensive side,
Brittany Lawson returns after averaging 2.46 digs per set last year.

New to the squad this year are two senior transfers, five junior transfers, and a red-shirt junior joining four freshmen. The coaching staff also brings new faces with
Tatiana Booth taking the helm as head coach after spending three years as head coach at Vernon College.
Katie Burnett will join her on the coaching staff as a graduate assistant.
Â
From the head coach: "I was impressed with what we did on Saturday in the scrimmage with Northwestern Oklahoma,"
Tatiana Booth said. "It's only a starting point for what we want to continue to build. We are still learning about each other as a team to make us better.
"This weekend will be a challenge as we are playing four good programs who will test us early. This weekend will certainly help us to see our strength and weaknesses as a whole. We have worked very hard the last two weeks, we have high energy and max effort in practice, so this weekend should be exciting."
