LAWTON – The Cameron volleyball team fell 3-1 (22-25, 26-24, 25-19, 25-15) to Texas Woman's on Saturday afternoon in the Aggie Gym.
Cameron is now 4-10 overall and 2-5 in the Lone Star Conference. TWU is 5-9 overall and 3-3 in the league.
Paige Dixon led the Aggies in kills notching 17 total.
Brook Conley reached her eighth double-double of the season by way of 44 assists and 12 digs.
Brittnee Altic matched Conley in digs with 12 herself.
Brandy Carr added five blocks.
The Pioneers were led by the triple attack of Courtney Noel with 12 kills and Miri Shade and Makayla Mayfield who added 11 kills each.
Cameron jumped to a 7-1 start in set one, a lead the Pioneers would close to two points late in the set by way of Aggie errors. With the score at 23-21, CU reached set point via a Pioneer service error but remained there as TWU got in one kill before the Aggies took the first set 25-22 with a kill from Dixon.
Despite the Aggies hitting below .100 in set two, the Pioneers narrowly escaped an Aggie comeback when down 20-15, CU got within one point with four straight blocks. The set tied three times and for a final time at 23-23 before TWU knocked down back-to-back kills for the 26-24 set two win.
The Pioneers offense controlled the match from there, taking sets three, 25-19, and four, 25-15, by hitting above .390 and committing just two errors a piece in the final two sets to take the 3-1 match victory.
Cameron will conclude their six-match home stand on Tuesday as they host non-conference opponent East Central.
