SAN ANGELO, Texas – The Cameron University softball team battled with No. 6 Angelo State in the final of the South Central Regional 2 on Saturday, but could not get anything going offensively as CU lost 3-0 to end a great postseason run.

The Aggies, who were picked as the six seed in the region, got to the Saturday final by winning back-to-back elimination games against Colorado Christian and No. 10 West Texas A&M on Friday.

However in the final, the Black and Gold recorded just one hit, as ASU's Morgan Hill was on her game, going all seven innings and striking out 10 and walking just one for her 24th win on the season.

For Cameron, Rylee Willmon pitched well giving up the three runs on six hits with two strikeouts in five innings. The only blemishes on her line were the two doubles and two triples which led to ASU runs.

Angelo State led off the game with a run on a Teagan Kirk RBI double in the first inning. They then used a triple/sacrifice fly combination in both the fourth and fifth innings to score the other two runs.

Hill held Cameron hitless in the final six innings and retired the final eight CU batters in order to secure the Regional Championship for the Belles.

The Aggies' lone hit came off the bat of Callie Busby in the first inning, while Carly Johnson had the one walk in the fifth.

Angelo State was led at the plate by Madison Greenwell, who had two hits and two runs scored, while Kirk was 1-2 with an RBI and a walk.

Cameron ends the season with a 32-20 record, while the Rambelles move to 50-7 and advance to the NCAA Super Regional set for next weekend.
