LAWTON, Okla. – The Cameron volleyball team continues their four match road stretch this Friday and Saturday as they visit No. 25 Texas A&M-Commerce on Sep. 21 and Texas Woman's on Sep. 22.

First Serve:
- Cameron enters the weekend on a five match losing streak, while both Texas A&M-Commerce and Texas Woman's have won their last three.
- The Aggies own a 28-26 record all-time against the Lions, winning the last four contests against them, while CU has lost six straight to the Pioneers.
Seniors
Brandy Carr and
Brittnee Altic anchor the Black and Gold defense, as Carr is ranked No. 7 in the Division II in total blocks (64), while Altic is ranked in the top-15 in DII in total digs (281) and service aces (26).
- TAMUC's Jaryn Wacker and Celeste Vela were recently named the Lone Star Conference Offensive Player of the Week and Setter of the Week respectively. Wacker totaled 33 kills and hit over .360 last week, while Vela recorded 5.00 assists per set.
- TWU's Katleyn Ranes is one of the top setters in the nation, ranking No. 1 in the LSC and fifth nationally with 584 total assists, giving her 10.81 helpers per set.
About the Aggies:
- Cameron is 2-12 on the season, and has yet to win a Long Star Conference match, going 0-4 in their first four league games.
- In 59 sets player, CU is hitting .177 as a team with 11.2 kills, 10.4 assists, 16.4 digs, and 2.0 blocks per set.
- The Aggies are a senior led team with
Paige Dixon pacing the offensive attack with 147 kills, while Carr has 109, and
Ashleigh McFatridge has 90.
- The three-headed setter attack of
Katherine Manning,
Kirsten Evans, and
Bailee Smith have totaled 547 assists in 2018, while Manning has recorded seven double-doubles, averaging 2.34 digs per set as well.
- Cameron's seniors are also tough to hit against, with Carr leading the team 67 total blocks, McFatridge adding 42, and Dixon collecting 32.
- Altic has a deadly jump serve that has helped her collect 26 service aces this season, while the Cache, Okla. product also averages 5.00 digs per set.
Scouting the Lions:
- Texas A&M-Commerce has started out the year 10-4, with four of their wins coming against top-25 ranked opponents.
- The Lions are 2-2 against the LSC so far, falling in a pair of five set matches to Angelo State and Tarleton State before taking down both Texas Woman's and Texas A&M-Kingsville.
- TAMUC has a dangerous offensive attack, averaging 14 kills and 13.2 assists per set while hitting .222 as a team; they are ranked No. 2 in the nation in total kills and assists.
- Five players have already reached the 100 kill plateau in 2018, with Jaslyn Wacker leading the way with 154; all five are hitting over .200 on the attack.
- The Lions' also have a group of three setters that they run out onto the court, with Rylie Fuentes leading the trio with 5.94 helpers per set.
- Commerce's Shelley Chapron, Bina Njikam, and Jas. Wacker all average almost 1.0 block per set, while libero Savannah Rutledge leads TAMUC with 4.37 digs per set.
Scouting the Pioneers:
- Texas Woman's enters the weekend with a 9-5 overall record and a 1-3 Lone Star Conference mark.
- The Pioneers are another high-potent offense that averages 13 kills and 12.2 assists per set, while on defense they are averaging 18 digs and 1.8 blocks.
- Junior Maggie Pyles leads TWU with 3.25 kills per set while hitting .231 on the attack, as Courtney Noel and Makayla Mayfield chip in over 2.00 kills per set each.
- Ranes is No. 1 in the LSC in both total assists (584) and assists per set (10.81, and the junior also has 15 service aces and 126 digs this season.
- Trixie Oche leads the team with 50 total blocks, as Co. Noel adds 38 and Ranes has 29.
- Bailey French not only leads TWU with 295 digs, but she is also ranked first in the conference in both total digs and digs per set. Â Â Â
