LAWTON, Okla. – The Cameron University volleyball team will face their final non-conference opponent of the season as they visit Southern Nazarene on Tuesday, Sep. 4.

About the Aggies:
Cameron is coming off of a 1-3 record at the Pitt State Gorilla Classic, falling to Northwestern Oklahoma State, Pittsburg, State and Christian Brothers before closing out the weekend with a straight set win over Chadron State. CU is now 2-7 in 2018, with a 0-1 record at home after losing their home opener against Southwestern Oklahoma State.
The Black and Gold are averaging 11.7 kills and 10.9 assists per set while hitting .205 on the attack. Defenisvley, they average 16.3 digs and 1.8 blocks game, and have a total of 45 service aces as a team.
Paige Dixon leads the team with 96 kills, as
Brandy Carr has chipped in 69 and
Ashleigh McFatridge has 66.
Katherine Manning has a team-best 224 assists, as freshman
Kirsten Evans has 134 on the young season. Carr also leads CU with 42 total blocks, while
Brittnee Altic has a team best 202 digs and 23 service aces.
Scouting the Storm:
Southern Nazarene has started out the 2018 season with a 3-5 record, going 2-2 in their opening four contests and 1-3 at the South Central Classic last weekend. They average 11.7 kills and 10.6 assists per set while hitting .154 as a team. SNU is also averaging 16 digs and 1.4 blocks per game and has a total of 57 service aces.
Individually, Bailee Turang leads the team with 94 kills, while Meagan Ellis has 71 and Kayla Thomas has 65. They have been set up mainly by Kylie Smith, who has 245 assists already; Smith also leads the team with 13 aces. Logan Mathews averaged 4.56 digs per set, while Makenna Hunter and Bailey Grimes own the team lead of 16 total blocks.

The Aggies begin Lone Star Conference play by hosting West Texas A&M on Friday, Sep. 7, and then Eastern New Mexico on Saturday, Sep. 8.
