LAWTON, Okla. – The Cameron volleyball team faces a pair of Lone Star Conference division opponents on the road this weekend, as they visit UT Tyler on Friday, Nov. 1, and A&M-Commerce on Saturday, Nov. 9.

Against the Opponents:
The Patriots won their first ever meeting against the Black and Gold earlier this season. In the five set thriller, CU got a 19 point performance from
Walia Franklin (16 kills, 5.0 blocks), while
Sarah Wright added a 14 kill, 11 dig double-double. In their first meeting with the Lions this season, CU hit just .177 in the three-set match. The all-time series is now at 30-26 in favor of A&M-Commerce, who has won seven straight matches over the Aggies.
Last Time Out:
Against Southern Nazarene on Tuesday, the Aggies went up 1-0 with a 25-21 set one victory, before dropping the next two frames. They then bounced back with a 25-23 win in the fourth, but fell in the final set 15-10. Cameron hit .223 on the attack and matches their season-high for blocks with 14.0 in the five set match. Wright led the Black and Gold with 18 points, recording 14 kills, three blocks, and two aces while also recording a team-high 19 digs.
Arianna Navarrete added 16 kills, while
Desiree Marmolejo had a double-double with 25 assists and 12 digs.
About the Aggies:
After their non-conference loss to the Crimson Storm on Tuesday, the Aggies are sitting at 6-17 on the season with a 2-10 conference mark and a 1-5 record against their divisional opponents. They average 11.5 kills per set on offense with a .169 hitting percentage, while also averaging right under 2.0 blocks per set on defense. Navarrete is just four kills short of 200 for her freshman season, while
Shantalle Demirjian has 188 and three others are over the century mark.
Katherine Manning (5.15 assists/set) and Marmolejo (4.27 assists/set) orchestrate the Black and Gold offense while totaling a combined 29 service aces from the setter position. Freshmen
Caitlyn Henderson and
Riana Blount lead the defensive charge for CU, as both first-year players have reached 60.0 total blocks for the season.
Scouting the Patriots:
UT Tyler is 8-12 on the season with a 3-9 LSC record and a 1-5 mark against the division. They have lost four straight, including a five set battle against Tarleton their last time out. The Patriots are hitting .183 on the attack with 12.4 kills per set, led by Kylee Becker, who has 194 kills and a .201 hitting percentage. Becker also leads the squad with 17 service aces while five other players have over 10 on the year. Six Patriots have over 20.0 total blocks, led by Hattie Murray, who has a 49.0 total stuffs.
Scouting the Lions:
The No. 23 ranked Lions enter their second meeting with the Aggies on a nine-match winning streak. They are now 19-4 on the year, 11-1 in league play, and 6-0 against the rest of the division. The high-powered A&M-Commerce offense averages 13.7 kills per set while hitting over .225 on the attack. They also rack up 2.3 blocks per set as a team, led by Shelley Chapron's 99.0 total stuffs. Chapron averages 2.95 kills per set with a .383 attack percentage, while also leading the squad with 31 aces in 2019.
