RICHARDSON, Texas – Cameron women's golf student-athlete
Iona Roska was named the Lone Star Conference Women's Golfer of the Week on Thursday after her second place finish at the MSU Texas Invitation this week.
Roska led the Aggies to a second place finish at the MSU Texas Invitational with a runner-up finish of her own. The sophomore from Scotland opened the tournament with a three-over par 75 with back-to-back chip-ins in the first round.  Roska followed that up with a 76 in the second round to tie for second place.
Roska shot +3 on the par-4's and +1 on the par-3's with five birdies and 20 total pars for the invite. Her second-place finish is her best finish of her two-year career and her 151 was just a stroke over her CU low two-round score.
On the season, Roska has a stroke average of 76.77 with two top-10 finishes and four finishes inside the top-15. This is first career LSC honor.
The Aggies have almost a three week break before their next tournament, as they will next compete at the WNMU Mustang Intercollegiate, April 5-6.
