AUSTIN, Texas – Cameron track and field student-athlete
James Majenge showed out on the big stage, finishing in second by less than a second in the 5000-meter event at the Texas Relays late Thursday night.

Already with one of the top times in the event across all divisions, the senior from Secunda, South Africa, earned the opportunity to run in Austin and bested his previous time with his performance on Thursday night.
Majenge was battling it our with Texas' Yusuf Bizimana down the stretch, with the Longhorn edging out the Aggie by 0.16 seconds. He ended up beating out multiple Division I opponents, and a trio of West Texas A&M Buffs, who were also competing in the event.
The criminal justice major's new top time in the event is now 14:12.86, which ranks in the top-10 in the nation. In just the three races he has run in this spring, Majenge has recorded two first place finishes and a second place finish to a Division I opponent.
Cameron's entire track and field program will be competing at the Oklahoma Baptist Invitational this weekend, March 26-27, in Shawnee, Okla.
