PORTALES, NM. - The Cameron Aggies track and field competed at day two of the Lone Star Conference Championships at Eastern New Mexico University. 

Cameron delivered gritty performances which allowed way to crucial points towards the team total. On the men's side, Esteban Soliz Martinez completed his decathlon journey with a total of 2,388 points. His performance earned a strong 5th place finish and brought four points to the team. Later, Arnaud Pujols took on the 800m semifinals. After a well-paced race, he finished 9th overall with a time of 1:52.92, just 0.12 seconds shy of making the final.

For the women's side, Kaat De Staercke gave everything she had in the 800m final, as she finished 11th with a time of 2:17.92. To wrap up the evening, Pia Schweitzer secured 8th place, earning one point for the Aggie women's team and ended the night on a strong note.

UP NEXT: The Aggies return on Saturday, May 3rd for the final day of the LSC Championship. The events will feature the long jump, 1500m finals, 5K, and relays.
