Game Recap: Men's Basketball | | Rylan Stiles

Last Second Score Downs Aggies

PUEBLO, Colo. – Cameron men's basketball falls late, stunned by Colorado State-Pueblo, 76-75. The Aggies have four in double figures.

The Aggies kept it close throughout the contest, going into the locker room down just two points behind Reggie Prudhomme's ten first-half points with two rebounds, an assist, and just one missed shot. Prudhomme finished with 19 points, matching his season-opening line with five assists and two rebounds to wrap up his game-two stat line in just 23 minutes of action as the guard fouled out of this game after getting charged with three second-half fouls.

DeAndre Munson picked up nine of his 13 points in the second half while finishing with eight rebounds and an assist in 36 minutes of action. Munson has been stellar since arriving on campus in Lawton, Okla., and the Aggies hope the Junior from Ann Arbor, Mich., can keep this pace all season long.

Kevin O'Connor's squad got a much-needed lift off the bench when Caylen Goff-Brown chipped in 17 points and two rebounds of the pine in 24 minutes of action. The Tulsa, Okla., freshman shot 60 percent from the floor tonight while shooting 50 percent from distance on six attempts from beyond the arc.

CU was dominated on the glass, losing the rebounding battle by ten boards, but they did win the turnover margin by one. Despite the close turnover margin, Cameron capitalized on more of their takeaways, cashing in 21 points off turnovers and limiting Pueblo to 13 points off takeaways.

Despite the disparity on the board, the Black-and-Gold kept the points in the paint deadlocked at 32.

This game saw seven lead changes, ten times, and Cameron led for nearly 28 minutes, but the Huskies led for the 7:36 that counted and earned a hard-fought win on their home floor. A competitive environment for this young Aggies team, who only has four returners from last year's squad.

Now CU will prepare to take on a tough mid-week non-conference foe when they head up to Weatherford, Okla., and take on the Southwestern Oklahoma State Bulldogs. This will be the Aggies' final stop on their three-game road trip to open the season before their home opener arrives on Saturday, November 19th, in Lawton, Okla., at the Aggie Gym when they play host to Rogers State at 3 p.m. on the Lone Star Conference Digital Network.
